When: February 10th, 2018
Where: Melia Braco Village, Jamaica
About The Resort
Melia Braco Village is an all inclusive resort located 45 minutes from Montego Bay. If it’s your first time staying at an all inclusive resort, you are in for a treat. Your room rate covers all your drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food, and entertainment on the property. We chose Melia Braco Village because of it’s unique character, beautiful grounds, and superior hospitality. Watch the video on this page to get a tour around the resort.
Getting to Jamaica: Fortunately Jamaica is one of the most flown to destinations in the Caribbean. You will need a passport (make sure it hasn’t expired and will not expire leading up to your departure date). We’d suggest flying into Montego Bay airport as it has the most flights during the month of February. You can also fly into Ocho Rios (Ian Fleming International Airport) but it will make your airport transfer ride a tad longer. If you’re really adventurous you can access Jamaica by boat. We have no details of how to do this but would love for you to document every detail if you go this route!
Airport Transfer: Lucky for us the resort is only 45 minutes from Montego Bay and 75 minutes from Ocho Rios. We say this in all seriousness as many resorts in Jamaica can be hours from the airport. You can arrange airport transfer through the resort or through third party transportation companies listed on travel sites. Late November we will send out a survey to help coordinate airport transportation for groups with similar arrival and departure times.
In Jamaica: Once you are at the resort there really isn’t much reason to leave. All food, alcohol and entertainment is included and onsite. However, if you wish to explore other parts of Jamaica or take on a few excursions, transportation can be made onsite.
*Tips: Use Google Flights (found here) to compare plane tickets from various airports. Additionally, a great way to secure a free plane ticket is through a rewards credit card. A list of the top 2017 rewards cards can be found here.
Booking Your Room
All of the rooms at Melia Braco Village have recently been renovated. Yes all the rooms are air conditioned (Tiffany would not allow for you all to be miserably hot on a vacation). In addition, all rooms come with the perks of a daily stocked mini bar, coffee maker, usual hotel items and our personal favorite touch of rocking chairs on your own private patios. The big difference between the rooms is what view you have (Gardens, Ocean, Beach).
We have reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate. Pricing and instructions on how to receive the group rate can be found by clicking this link.
Premium Garden – The Premium Garden rooms face gardens as opposed to the ocean. You can tour a room by clicking here.

Questions / FAQs
What dates should I come?
That’s all up to you! The wedding is on Saturday February 10th 2018. Carter and Tiffany will arrive Monday February 5th and leave Monday February 12th. The group rates are good from the 5th to the 13th.
I've never been to an all inclusive resort, what should I expect?
The short answer is convenience – Once you are on the resort property everything is taken care of. Your food, alcohol and entertainment are all included in your room price. The resort has five different restaurants each with different cuisines. Check out the video we include of the resort if you want to get a better idea!
Should I be worried about Zika?
Zika has been documented on the island. The resort does take active measures to reduce mosquitos on it’s property. We will be wearing mosquito repellent (in addition to sunscreen), and encouraging our guests to do the same. Please consult your doctor if you are actively trying to get pregnant.
Additionally you can read up on Zika via the following sites;
Will there be any activities off the resort?
If you are interested in doing excursions you can. Closer to the travel dates we will send out a survey to help organize any “groups” that are interested in similar activities. We will be having several activities (including the wedding) on the resort so don’t feel like you need to leave the property to have fun!
